Moms Across America’s Fourth Meeting with EPA Pesticide Review Board

On 3月 3, 2022, Moms Across America and a team of highly reputable scientists and experts met with the Pesticide Review Board of the US Environmental Protection Agency regarding the EPA's review of glyphosate. The presenters intended to provide new evidence to support the revocation of glyphosate's license. The Moms Across America presenters were: 

• Dr. Shanna Swan, author of Countdown and numerous papers on glyphosate
• Dr. Don Huber, Professor Emeritus of Perdue University, 50-year plant pathologist and glyphosate expert, and US Defense Military Consultant
• Dr. Zach Bush, Triple Board-certified physician and founder of Farmers Footprint
• Robin Mesnage Ph.D. Consultant to Kings College University
• Mary Lou McDonald LL.B. and President of Safe Food Matters
• Kelly Ryerson, board member of Moms Across America and reporter (aka Glyphosate Girl)
• Zen Honeycutt, Founding Executive Director of Moms Across America and author of Unstoppable.

Spanning three administrations, Moms Across America has met with the EPA four times. The meeting request was granted after Moms Across America mothers and supporters emailed the EPA regarding new studies implicating glyphosate as a causal factor in cancer and endocrine disruption. Much controversy has surrounded the Roundup product and its maker Monsanto, which Bayer has since purchased. The controversy started with nationwide and global consumer protests and resulted in multiple lawsuits representing over 100,000 plaintiffs. The lawsuits saw payouts by Bayer of over 12 billion dollars for malice and the oppression of information regarding glyphosate and its link to cancer, particularly non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

In the meeting facilitated by Honeycutt, the primary question was asked: As the EPA completes their review of glyphosate under the Endangered Species Act, will they need to add trees, insects, wildlife, and even humans to the endangered list? Are we a soon-to-be endangered species because of the widespread contamination and harm to human health from glyphosate herbicides?

The science from Dr. Shanna Swan and others, one could argue, confirmed that unless immediate action is taken, the irrefutable harmful effects will be a major contributing factor to the decline of the human race’s ability to reproduce for this future generations.

Here is a summary of the science presented:

• New test results show the widespread contamination of glyphosate in most conventional food and 21% of organic food tested remote trees and wildlife animals.
• Studies show that glyphosate contributes to the androgenization or masculinization of our female babies.
• Maternal glyphosate exposure has been shown to shorten the gestation of babies, leading to pre-term births, which can include miscarriages, developmental delays, or death.
• Glyphosate harms sperm in the four aspects of form, function, quantity, and quality. It, therefore, is a major contributing factor to the current reproductive crisis the world faces: a 25% decline in sperm rates in just ten years, between 2003 and 2013. 
• Glyphosate is an antibiotic that kills good bacteria and lets harmful pathogens grow. It harms the good bacteria and tight junctions of the human gut microbiome, the stronghold of the immune system. New animal studies show bacteria imbalance in animals, with botulism bacteria and death occurring in farm animals eating feed sprayed with glyphosate.
• Glyphosate alone, as well as the complete formulation, causes cancerous effects.
• When glyphosate is sprayed on crops just before harvest, it accumulates in the seeds of indeterminate plants, causing high glyphosate residues in the cereals and legumes we eat. The consumption of these foods has increased, and EPA has not adequately assessed the resulting risks.
• Glyphosate, found in pet food, contributes to a skyrocketing cancer rate in pets.
• Glyphosate found in female baby teeth contributes to great concern about long-term fertility in our female children. 

The presenters asked the EPA to label all products on the shelves with cancer immediately and reproductive issue warnings, immediately disallow the spraying of glyphosate as a drying agent or preharvest desiccant, immediately disallow glyphosate use in public parks and forests, and revoke the license of glyphosate with a standard 2-year phase-out. The EPA is expected to announce its final decision about the glyphosate license related to endangered species in October of 2022.
